Ulf Evenas Shihan
For those unfamiliar with Ulf Evenås Shihan:
He is one of only two people worldwide to have been awarded 7th Dan directly by Morihiro Saito Shihan (9th Dan)—a rare and significant recognition among hundreds of Saito Shihan’s close students.
At the start of this year, he was also awarded 8th Dan by the Doshu, in recognition of his lifelong dedication and contribution to Aikido.
Ulf Shihan trained intensively for 29 years under Morihiro Saito Shihan and holds the highest-level certification in Bukiwaza (Level 5), awarded personally by Saito Shihan.
He was also appointed as Saito Shihan’s personal representative in Europe, a testament to his deep understanding and embodiment of Iwama-style Aikido.
All of Ulf Shihan’s teaching remains true to the method and structure passed down from Morihiro Saito Shihan, with a strong emphasis on the connection between Aiki Ken, Aiki Jo, and Taijutsu—focusing on Kihon, Awase, and Ki-no-Nagare movements across both weapons and open-hand techniques.
Whether you’re new to Aikido or a seasoned practitioner, this seminar offers a rare opportunity to experience authentic Iwama-style Aikido from one of its most respected living exponents.
