About this Event
The Key to Better Engagement and Representation...
The UKRD Working Group on Inclusion in Research is hosting its annual symposium on 4th July 2024 at Mary Ward House in Bloomsbury, London. The focus is on increasing diversity and inclusion in research participation and leadership. This is an opportunity for attendees to address the challenges and gaps that they experience.
Core themes of this year's event are diversity and inclusion within R&D leadership and participation of under-represented communities in research. At the event, you will hear leaders and experts share the work that they have carried out so far and their plans for both improving and promoting inclusion and diversity in the future. There will also be an opportunity to take part in an exercise to co-create UKRD’s objectives for work in inclusion going forward. This event is suitable for: UKRD members; individuals working in inclusion and diversity related roles in research, individuals working or interested in working in the health and care research field, and anyone that would like to learn more about improving inclusion and diversity.
Guest speakers include:
- Roger Kline, Research Fellow at Middlesex University Business School and author of several publications and reports on the topics of workplace equality and racism
- Jinjer Kandola, CEO of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey NHS Trust & Camden and Islington Foundation Trust
- Lynis Lewis, Director of Research & Development at Noclor, NHS Research Office
