About this Event

Ukraine: Between the Sirens is a solo exhibition by French photographer Laetitia Vançon, presented by art producer Yaroslove Bystrushkin and Save Art International.

The exhibition showcases a selection from Vançon’s long-term series “Tribute to Odesa” (2022–2026), which documents civilian life during the ongoing war. Through intimate and compelling imagery, the series reveals a country living between air-raid sirens, uncertainty, and the persistent will to move forward.

Based in Germany, Vançon is internationally recognized for her powerful documentary photography exploring identity, youth, and the human impact of global events. She is a frequent contributor to The New York Times, and her work has been published in The New Yorker, National Geographic, GEO, TIME, Vanity Fair, Der Spiegel, and M Le Magazine du Monde, among others.

A pivotal moment in her career came in 2022, when she documented the Ukrainian refugee crisis across Eastern Europe before undertaking her first assignment in an active war zone in Odesa. Since then, Vançon has returned regularly to Ukraine, capturing the cost of war on civilians - particularly the youth - while revealing moments of resilience, courage, and fragile hope embedded in everyday life.
