Fred Frith is an absolute free spirited legend of guitar and sound manipulation. We can barely believe he is coming to the Comox Valley as one of three Vancouver Island shows (along with Nanaimo and Victoria).
A pioneering electric guitarist and improviser, song-writer, and composer of avant-rock and free improvisation with 126 solo albums and collaborations to his name. Founding member of seminal progressive/art rock groups Henry Cow, Art Bears, Massacre, and Skeleton Crew. Jon Leidecker ( Wobbly ) is an active member of both the seminal experimental group Negativland, and the Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth) Ensemble. Wobbly has collaborated with artists including Matmos, Dieter Moebius (Cluster), Tania Chen, Fred Frith, Tim Story, David Toop, Zeena Parkins, and People Like Us.
