About this Event
About the Event
This is a hands-on gathering focused on biochar, hemp and practical farming systems. Rather than a typical conference or expo, the festival is built around live demonstrations, open discussion and real-world experience.
You’ll see commercial biochar equipment running, explore ongoing farm trials, walk hemp crops in the field, and connect with people working across farming, carbon, engineering and regenerative agriculture.
Free camping is included with your ticket (we kindly ask that you register a free ticket so as to efficiently keep track of numbers.), creating a relaxed, community atmosphere across the weekend. For those wanting a bit more comfort, glamping upgrades will also be available.
It’s an event built by operators, for operators.
Live Biochar Systems
Throughout the event you’ll be able to see a range of systems running and being discussed, including:
- A full Woodtek C1000 biochar system operating live
- Continuous pyrolysis systems in action
- Combined heat & power biochar plant
- Inline feedstock processing and preparation
- Batch system demonstrations
- Kiln system demonstrations
- Small-scale to commercial-scale comparisons
Discussions will cover feedstock types, moisture levels, throughput, scaling projects and real-world deployment.
Hemp, Farming & Field Trials
The event is hosted on a working farm where hemp is being grown alongside biochar trials, giving visitors the chance to see how the two integrate in real farming systems.
You’ll be able to explore:
- Hemp as a rotational crop
- Biochar and hemp working together in soil systems
- Fibre, hurd and biomass opportunities
- Carbon-negative cropping approaches
- Regenerative farming practices
The farm also features over six years of field data, including:
- Yield performance
- Soil health improvements
- Input reduction
- Practical agronomy outcomes
There will also be opportunities to walk the hemp crop and speak with UK hemp specialists attending the event.
Panels & Industry Discussions
Open discussions with people working across the sector, covering:
- Carbon markets and policy
- Scaling biochar in the UK
- Farming economics
- Hemp and emerging markets
- Practical deployment challenges
These sessions are designed to be conversational and interactive rather than formal presentations.
Evening Industry Social
On the evening of the first day there will be an informal networking social, a relaxed opportunity to meet others working across biochar, hemp and regenerative agriculture.
