About this Event
Using the photographic printmaking process of cyanotype, participants will experiment with collage, found objects, acetate imagery, text, flowers and stencils to create their own blue-toned dreamscape prints.
Kate will introduce participants to her practice and process through sketchbooks, examples and demonstrations before guiding the group through the cyanotype process step-by-step.
Depending on weather conditions, part of the workshop may take place outdoors using sunlight to expose the prints. If weather does not allow, a UV lamp will be used within the studio space.
As part of the session, participants will also contribute towards a collaborative cyanotype installation inspired by Kate’s large-scale tiled works.
This workshop is relaxed, experimental and beginner friendly - no prior experience needed.
All materials provided but participants are welcome to bring:
• Small found objects
• Flowers/plants
• Transparent materials
• Text/stencils/images to experiment with
Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy as the chemicals can stain. Gloves will be provided.
