On April 15, 2026 at 10:30 Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories will offer UIRA members an inside look at its printed circuit board factory along U.S. Highway 95 on the southern edge of Moscow. The employee-owned company dedicated the new factory and the 150 acres surrounding it in June 2023.
The $100 million, 162,000-square-foot facility is among the few printed circuit board manufacturing facilities to be built in the U.S. in the last decade. The SEL factory is designed to rank among the top 10 producers of printed circuit boards nationally.
The advanced manufacturing technologies in the new factory enable SEL to strengthen its supply chain for printed circuit boards. They are critical components in the electronic devices SEL manufactures in Pullman; Lewiston; West Lafayette, Indiana; and Lake Zurich, Illinois. It also allows SEL to use highly automated processes that are quality-focused, efficient, and environmentally friendly.
General Tour reminders:
- Active chemistry is in use - please do not touch anything unless directed.
- If you have a pacemaker or another high-voltage sensitive device, please let your Tour Guide know. They are not allowed inside of parts of our factory.
- Please avoid wearing shorts and wear closed toed shoes on the manufacturing floor
- Eye protection is required, and will be provided before the tour, including safety glasses that can fit over glasses. Ear plugs are available if needed.
- SEL’s processes and products are considered confidential.
- Pictures are not allowed, as well as sharing specific details, and processes, about SEL business.
