The UIRA annual meeting will be held at the Best Western beginning at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov 13. Agenda items include an update on changes to the UI retiree benefits for 2026-27 from Brandi Terwillliger, UI Director of Human Resources, an update on the 2025-26 UIRA scholarship recipients, and an opportunity to provide input to future UIRA activities.
No registration is necessary for the business meeting so come join us before the fall luncheon.
The UIRA Fall luncheon at 11:30 a.m. at the Best Western Plus University Inn at 1516 Pullman Road in Moscow. This is a chance to see fellow retirees and hear from a couple of great speakers. Registration is required and the lunch cost is $23. Please register online to reserve your spot.
Fall luncheon speakers include College of Letters Arts and Social Sciences Dean Sean Quinlan and Idaho Fish and Game Director Jim Fredericks. Fredericks will explore his career path that includes growing up in Moscow, two UI degrees and a strong belief in graduate studies to support conservation efforts.
The Idaho Department of Fish and Game touches the lives of many through its management of fishing and hunting. It also protects nongame wildlife from the Idaho giant salamander to mountain bluebirds. Quinlan will outline UI’s new program with Japan’s Hiroshima University.
A separate tour of the UI Aquaculture Research Institute’s Cold Water Lab is planned at 2 p.m. with IDFG Director Fredericks and UI scientists. Watch for a follow-up email to register for the lab tour. Space will be limited and UIRA members will receive priority.
