About this Event
Ugat ng Paglalakbay (“Roots of the Journey”) is a community-driven, multidisciplinary art initiative featuring the works of eight (8) artists whose artworks will be exhibited at the event at the Alcove Centre for the Arts. The exhibition will run from June 20 to July 4 at Alcove Core.
The eight (8) artists bringing this project to life are:

- Mila Philipzig
- Nicole Reyes
- Renato Gandia
- Tanya Remata
This project centres Filipino migrant and diaspora narratives through collective storytelling, cultural memory, and artistic expression. It explores the emotional, cultural, and social realities of migration, reflecting on identity, belonging, and the journeys that shape our communities across generations.
The event will also include a workshop hosted by Anakbayan and Migrante Calgary, sharing the realities of Filipino migration and creating space to educate, mobilize, and organize around the experiences shaping our lives and kapwa across the diaspora.
