Academic Writing Course Term 1 (PGT)
About this Event
These courses are offered to MSc Mechanical Engineering taught postgraduate students currently writing or preparing to write their assignments. The course aims to enable students to communicate critically and confidently in their writing at Master’s level.
The course begins week of 9th October or 6th November and takes place once a week over 4 weeks, with an additional practical writing retreat offered to all participants. Course input is based on faculty-specific materials and sessions are taught on campus in a variety of interactive and communicative ways, encouraging active participation from students, and helping to build confidence in working in groups and discussing and responding to ideas.
Each session will involve some teaching time with the tutor and some practice tasks, both individually and in small groups, and the course is taught using a combination of live teaching and offline tasks. You will also spend up to an hour each week preparing and completing tasks set by your tutor.
You may select one course only from the options below. You must be able to attend all sessions so please check dates carefully before registering.
Please note that places are limited and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Once courses are full, a waiting list will be in operation and you will be notified if and when a place becomes available. Course materials and recordings of sessions will be made available on our ACC Moodle page. You do not need to be registered on one of our courses to access materials and recordings.
