About this Event
Uckermark: Hiking & Beer Tasting
Uckermark is considered to be the most beautiful part of Brandenburg, filled with forests, lakes and hills. On our day trip we’ll hike through historic villages, to the lush Oberuckersee lake at Warnitz, where there’ll be opportunities for swimming, should the weather be good.
Along the way, we’ll visit the brewery Dorfbrauerei Stegelitz, where we’ll be treated to a special tour and tasting. The local brewery is the best in Uckermark, and specialises in international beer varieties, including blondes, stours, porters, and more.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE HIGHLIGHTS?
- Oberuckersee: The second largest lake in Uckermark has excellent water quality and is great for bathing and swimming.
- Uckermark Woodlands: Rich biodiversity, sprawling fields, and nature dominate the landscape and views.
- Die Braut: The independent brewery is the region’s highlight, offering bespoke beers and local farmed produce - attracting beer lovers from all over the region.
- Flieth-Stegelitz: The historic 13th-century village, sitting on the edge of Brandenburg’s only national park with characteristic old churches, farms, and village paths.
TRIP DETAILS
Start & End Date: Sunday, 18 Aug
Meeting location & time:
- Option A: Meet inside Berlin Central Station (Berlin Hbf) at 10:00 am on Sunday.
- Option B: Meet outside Wilmersdorf (bei Angermünde)Bahnhof
- Note: If you arrive late, then you will miss the train in Berlin. Being punctual or early is a must!
Finishing location & time:
- Option A: Berlin Central Station @ 6 PM.
- Option B: Warnitz (Uckermark) Train Station at 4:30pm
Hiking distance: 15 km from Wilmersdorf to Warnitz.
Difficulty: Medium – hiking at relaxed pace on well-marked paths, woodland grounds, sure-footedness & good fitness required.
Price: Starting from €45 for adults (before any discounts)

Other Things of Note:
- German weather can be unpredictable at the best of times; please pack for all eventuality, both and rain and sunshine, that means brining:
- Rainproof jacket, trousers (optional) or umbrella (optional)
- A rainproof cover for your bag
- Firm footwear should you need to be walking through muddy terrain
- Suncream / sunglasses (optional)

W HO IS THE COMMUNITY GUIDE FOR THIS TRIP?
Dan Cole (see pic below) is the community guide for this trip. Dan is a published travel author, having written Beer Hiking Berlin, and Epic Bike Rides of Europe. Born in the UK, Dan has been residing in Germany for over 15 years, making the most of that time exploring the Bavarian Alps, Franken countryside, and riverside hiking trails. He also loves long-distance running, bike touring, and music, and plays in several bands in Berlin, and DJ's frequently.
He is currently working on his next book, Hiking & Drinking Europe, and is currently researching some of the best wine trails and brewery tours that Europe has to offer. His passions? Watching sunsets from Alpine mountain huts, and the sunrise across the Elbe River.
