About this Event
Art to Live With—one of the first university art rental programs in the country—is celebrating 66 years at the University of Chicago over Alumni Weekend.
Drop by the Smart Museum of Art to view a mini pop-up exhibition of works from the Art to Live With collection and speak with current UChicago students about the annual ritual of borrowing and living with a work of art. On display will be 10 artwork selections by UChicago alumni and 10 of the newest additions to the collection, selected in partnership with the Smart's Student Advisory Committee.
“The best way to become acquainted with art—and to appreciate it—is to live with it.”—Joe Shapiro, on the launch of the Art to Live With program in 1958.
Light refreshments are provided.
