About this Event
The event brings together distinguished experts from the design, development, government, and finance sectors to discuss how innovative financing is unlocking new possibilities for developing housing in California.
The highlight of the symposium will be development proposals presented by interdisciplinary graduate student teams as the culmination of a semester-long studio using a test case of LA Metro's newly opened Glendora station area. The proposals explore newly available public financing solutions to lower costs and accelerate the delivery of affordable and mixed-income housing.
The studio is co-taught by Ben Metcalf (UC Berkeley City and Regional Planning & Terner Center for Housing Innovation), Claire Parisa (Enterprise Community Partners), Daniel Simons (David Baker Architects), and Thomas Medek (Bernheimer Architecture).
