About this Event
Pato Banton headlines the all-day Ubuntu Festival at Golden Gate Park’s historic Music Concourse Bandshell on Sunday, November 9th, from 12 PM to 7 PM. This free, all-ages celebration brings together music, dance, and community in the heart of San Francisco.
“Ubuntu” is a powerful African philosophy meaning “I am because we are” and “humanity towards others.” It reminds us that our lives are deeply connected, and that compassion, respect, and unity make us stronger. The Ubuntu Festival embodies this spirit—welcoming people of all backgrounds to share in a day of joy, culture, and togetherness. It also recognizes National Indigenous People's Month.
The event will feature an electrifying headlining performance by reggae legend Pato Banton and his band The Now Generation, with Antoinette Rootsdawtah, plus many special guests throughout the fest, and DJs Irie Dole, Guid8nce, and Sep as part of a special all-day Crucial Reggae Sunday. Expect irie vibes, deep grooves, and positive energy all afternoon.
The Ubuntu Festival is an invitation for all ages and backgrounds to celebrate the shared humanity that unites us all.
