You’ll be able to meet Massry School of Business Dean Dr. Paquita Davis-Friday, new Senior Assistant Dean of Academic Programs Sheena Loughlin, Assistant Dean of Graduate Student Services Zina Lawrence, connect with cohort members past, present, and future, catch up with faculty and staff, and hear an energizing keynote presentation by alum Darrin Jahnel, CEO of the Jahnel Group, a 150-person software consulting firm in Schenectady.
Darrin will speak on "Culture Is a Strategy," and how to intentionally build culture as you scale, and the small, repeatable habits that make it real.
Refreshments and hors d'oeuvres will be served, with a cash bar. Two drink tickets per guest will be provided at the check-in desk.
The University at Albany Alumni Association will have a table at the event, so be sure to stop by and learn from Career Services Coordinator Meg McCarthy about how you can get involved.

Darrin Jahnel is the founder and CEO of Jahnel Group, a 150-person software consulting company headquartered in Schenectady, NY. Darrin leads with energy and is obsessed with creating an amazing work environment for his team. Jahnel Group has made the Inc. 5,000 list 7 years in a row and has won multiple best workplace awards for its culture. In 2024, Darrin founded InfoLink, a company focused on helping businesses claim and support their R&D tax credits. That same year, he led the acquisition of Logic Technology Inc., a Schenectady-based IT services provider. In 2025, he was selected to serve on the Arrow Bank Board of Directors.
Darrin earned an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University at Albany and a Master’s Degree in Information Systems from NYU's Stern School of Business. Prior to starting his entrepreneurial career in 2005, Darrin worked as a Senior Software Engineer on Wall Street. Darrin has led numerous engineering teams on multi-million dollar projects and is a member of MENSA.
Darrin played college basketball at the University of Albany. He left a lasting legacy as a four-year starter, scoring over 1,000 points and setting records for 3-pointers made in a game, season, and career. Darrin was inducted into the Upstate NY Basketball Hall of Fame in 2024.
Family plays a central role in Darrin's life. He is happily married and a devoted father to four children. His commitment to his community is evident through his membership at Liberty Church in Schenectady and as a board member of Mekeel Christian Academy. Darrin is also a member of the Entrepreneur’s Organization (EO) and Vistage.
Recognized as an AI expert, Darrin continues to push the boundaries in technology and leadership. His leadership and focus on building strong teams have shaped Jahnel Group’s culture and growth.
