TYPOGRAPHY DISPLAY TYPEFACE DESIGN for Beginners and IntermediatesSaturday 10 January

This hands-on workshop introduces participants to Typography and Display Typeface Design, ideal for beginners and intermediates. We will start with a brief discussion on how typography is used in posters, along with visual examples to set the foundation. From there, the session shifts into creative practice as you explore eye-catching text as a design element.
You will work with stencils, cutouts or freehand approaches to create your own display typeface. The host will demonstrate simple layout techniques, color choices and mixed media methods using paper, paint and found materials. This is a practical, creative workshop designed to help you understand messaging through type while experimenting with playful, expressive design.
You are welcome to bring your own supplies, but materials will be available to for use during the session, and all participants will be provided with a 5" x 8" drawing pad to take home. The workshop is suitable for all skill levels.
