About this Event
Typewriter Poetry Workshop
Welcome - if you are adventuring or accomplished writer, please join our in-person Typewriter Poetry Workshop! Dust off those typewriter skills (or just learn anew) and craft some unique poems with a vintage vibe. It’s a fun, relaxed space to get creative, meet fellow poets, and let the old-school keys spark your imagination. No pressure, just pure poetic fun—come type your heart out!
Only 8 people per workshop. So regester here on Eventbrite. Be the first 8 on the list and at the door Saturday at 10 am to be admitted into The TypOsphere for workshop. Suggested donation at that time is $20 per person. We will accept any amount.
"Typewriter Poetry" is a monthly writer's workshop that teaches various poetic forms in community space through the use of restored vintage typewriters. Each workshop will explore a theme and include instruction on the use of the machines. This workshop is hosted by St. Louis Poet Laureate Pacia Elaine Anderson with gracious support from the LA Marler Typewriter Museum and St. louis Poetry Center. Youth classes (13 - 17 years) happen every third Saturday. Adult classes take place every fourth Saturday. No previous writing or typing experience is necessary; just a curiosity and willingness to learn something new in a whole new way! We will see you there!"
