About this Event
Type as Image: "Typo Animalia"
We’ll celebrate Chinese New Year -- and the year of the wood snake -- by dedicating ourselves to a sense of play and exploration with wood letterforms as our elemental palette. Using familiar shapes of letterforms to create designs, patterns and characters is the goal of this workshop while maintaining focus on proper printing technique and principles of design (scale, repetition, white space, canvas area etc). Words might become an expression of their own meaning, but don’t they need not be limited by that. This will be a fun evening class to celebrate printing and perhaps to even be inspired by the elusive printer’s devil! Once our designs are set up, we’ll get busy printing to create a folio of posters to be exchanged with all of your classmates at the end of class. All materials provided. All levels welcome!
