You don't want to miss the opportunity to participate in an interactive workshop focused on enhancing your communication and networking skills while leveraging modern digital tools for professional growth. Attendees will learn key tecniques to refine verbal and non-verbal communications, craft a compelling elevator pitches, and build meaningful connections. The session also will introduce the advantages of digital business cards, with a hands-on activity to create personalized Blink cards.
By the end of the workshop, attendees will leave with actionable skills, a professional business card, and strategies to foster and maintain valuable connections in their personal and professional lives.
Marchette Brackett is the esteemed Program Manager overseeing the Los Angeles County Program Support Division within the Department of Child Support Services. With an illustrious career spanning over 25 years in public service, Marchette brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her role. Armed with a graduate degree in Negotiation and Conflict Management, she exemplifies exceptional leadership qualities.
Marchette's influence extends across various domains, including supervision, leadership development, and employee engagement. She firmly believes in the power of core values as the bedrock for fostering a positive work environment while adeptly motivating her colleagues to surpass their own expectations. Her dedication to continuous improvement is evident through her proactive approach in creating impactful trainings and presentations aimed at educating, motivating, and engaging her peers.
Currently serving as the Co-chair for LACAAEA's Professional Development Committee, Marchette is deeply committed to advancing the professional growth of her fellow professionals. As a Subject Matter Expert in Customer Service, she has been instrumental in various workgroups and special projects, notably the Core Curriculum Development Project facilitated by the California DCSS.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Marchette finds fulfillment in her role as a public servant dedicated to serving children and families. She cherishes her roles as a wife, mother of two children, a bonus son-in-law, and two cherished grandsons. Grateful for the opportunity to serve her local community and her loved ones, Marchette embodies the essence of a compassionate leader and dedicated public servant.
Tramelle Jones began her career with Los Angeles County as a student worker in Beaches and Harbors in 2004 before transitioning to Child Support Services Department where she held various roles including supervisor and management analyst in Human Resources. She currently serves as a Program Specialist in the Chief Executive Office.
With an innovative mindset and a dedication to leadership, Tramelle has become a resource in building communication skills and teaching power of connection. She co-created the Opportunities, Promotability, Encouragement, and Networking workshop (O.P.E.N.), designed to equip first-line staff with vital professional development tools. A graduate of CSSD’s Leadership 101 Cohort and LA County’s New Supervisor Development Program, Tramelle has also led workshops on the importance of connecting as a first-line supervisor and conducted trainings on effective interpersonal communication skills in the workplace. She has mentored first-line staff aspiring to advance their careers, emphasizing that effective communication skills can be taught and leveraged to shape one's professional future. Throughout her career, Tramelle has utilized her exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build valuable connections and strong professional relationships.
In her personal life, Tramelle is a devoted wife, mother of two girls, and a Sunday School teacher. She loves spending her free time reading or enjoying a good romantic comedy, and she has recently discovered a passion for traveling.
