[EN below] Kaip kiekvienais metais, šiemet lapkričio 20 d. (ketvirtadienį) kviečiame kartu paminėti Trans žmonių atminimo dieną ir uždegti žvakutes toms/tiems, kurių netekome. Šįkart – šalia Teisingumo ministerijos, Žemaitės skvere.
Kiek metų dar trans žmonės turės laukti lygių teisių? Į kokybišką ir prieinamą sveikatos priežiūrą, pagarbą privačiam gyvenimui, šeimų apsaugą, orų ir saugų gyvenimą Lietuvoje. Naujoji Teisingumo ministerijos vadovybė daug vilčių nekelia. Ankstesniuose pasisakymuose tiek ministrė Rita Tamašunienė, tiek viceministrė Kristina Zamarytė-Sakavičienė nuosekliai neigė translyčių asmenų teisę į privataus gyvenimo apsaugą, kvestionavo ir trans žmonių egzistavimą.
Dar 2007 m. Lietuva pralaimėjo bylą L. prieš Lietuvą Europos Žmogaus Teisių Teisme (EŽTT). Lietuvos valstybė, 2000 m. priėmusi Civilinį kodeksą, kuriame įtvirtino teisę į "lyties keitimą", kurį reglamentuoti turėjo atskiras specialusis įstatymas, pažeidė translyčio žmogaus L. teisę į privataus ir šeimos gyvenimo gerbimą, nes per protingą terminą tokio specialiojo įstatymo nepriėmė. Šis įstatymas nepriimtas iki šiol. Dėl EŽTT sprendimo nevykdymo 2014 m. Europos Tarybos Ministrų Komitetas pritaikė Lietuvai sustiprintos priežiūros tvarką.
Visgi Teisingumo ministerija yra atsakinga už Europos žmogaus teisių teismo (EŽTT) sprendimų vykdymą, taip pat periodiškai atsiskaito Europos Tarybos Ministrų Komitetui apie veiksmus, kurių buvo imtasi įgyvendinant EŽTT sprendimą. Transfobiški pasisakymai ir neveiksnumas užtikrinant lygias teises visiems/-oms prisideda prie mūsų nesaugumo ir neleidžia mums oriai gyventi. Užtenka tylėti ir versti trans žmones tyliai kentėti vieniems.
Tyla = mirtis.
Lapkričio 20 d. kviečiame pabūti kartu ir prisiminti žmones, kurių netekome, bei protestuoti už tas/tuos, kurie/kurios vis dar čia, kovoti už savo teises, visų pirma – teisę tiesiog egzistuoti.
Kviečiame atsinešti ir savo žvakučių, gėlių, bendruomenės vėliavų, plakatų, arbatos, ir kt.

Trans žmonių atminimo diena skirta pagerbti ir prisiminti žmones, kurių gyvybės prarastos dėl transfobijos ir prieš trans asmenis nukreipto smurto. Susirinkim dėl tų, kurias/kuriuos pažinojome, dėl tų, kurių mums neteko pažinti, dėl tų, kurios/kurie kentėjo dėl transfobijos ir sisteminio smurto, nukreipto prieš trans žmones.
Pirmą kartą ši diena paminėta 1999 metais JAV, ir buvo skirta atminti Ritai Hester – juodaodei trans moteriai, nužudytai 1998 metais. Trans žmonių atminimo dienos pradininkė Gwendolyn Ann Smith taip kalbėjo apie šios dienos svarbą: „Kai taip smarkiai siekiama ištrinti trans žmones – kartais pačiais žiauriausiais būdais – yra gyvybiškai svarbu, kad prisimintume tuos, kuriuos praradome, ir toliau kovotume už teisingumą“. Pirmąkart Trans žmonių atminimo dieną Lietuvoje minėjome 2019 metais Vilniuje.

As every year, this year on November 20 (Thursday), we invite you to commemorate Trans Day of Remembrance together and light candles for those we have lost. This time – next to the Ministry of Justice, in Žemaitės Square.
How many more years will trans people have to wait for equal rights? The right to quality and affordable healthcare, respect for private life, protection of families, a dignified and safe life in Lithuania. The new leadership of the Ministry of Justice does not give much hope. In previous statements, both the minister Rita Tamašunienė and the vice-minister Kristina Zamarytė-Sakavičienė consistently denied the right of trans people to protection of private life, and questioned the existence of trans people.
Back in 2007, Lithuania lost the case L. v. Lithuania at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR). The State of Lithuania, in 2000 by adopting the Civil Code, which established the right to "gender change", which was to be regulated by a separate law, violated the right of transgender person L. to respect for private and family life, because it did not adopt such a law within a reasonable time. This law has not been adopted to date. Due to the failure to implement the ECHR decision, in 2014 the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe applied the enhanced supervision procedure to Lithuania.
However, the Ministry of Justice is responsible for the implementation of the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), and also periodically reports to the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe on the actions taken to implement the ECHR decision. Transphobic statements and inaction in ensuring equal rights for all contribute to our lack of safety and prevent us from living with dignity. Enough with silence and letting trans people suffer alone.
Silence = death.
On November 20, we invite you to come together and remember the people we’ve lost, and to protest for those who are still here, to fight for our rights, first of all – the right to simply exist.
We invite you to bring candles, flowers, community flags, posters, tea, etc.

Trans Day of Remembrance is a day to honor and remember those whose lives have been lost to transphobia and anti-trans violence. Let us come together for those we knew, for those we’ve lost, for those who suffered from transphobia and systemic violence against trans people.
This day was first observed in the United States in 1999, and was dedicated to the memory of Rita Hester, a black trans woman who was murdered in 1998. Trans Day of Remembrance pioneer Gwendolyn Ann Smith spoke about the importance of this day: “When there is such a strong push to erase trans people – sometimes in the most brutal ways – it is vital that we remember those we have lost and continue to fight for justice.” We commemorated Trans Day of Remembrance for the first time in Lithuania in 2019 in Vilnius.
