Rebecca Morris is a Montreal writer whose debut novel, Other Maps, was released in September 2024 with Linda Leith Publishing. Originally from Guelph, Ontario, Rebecca taught high school before turning to writing full time. Her stories have won the Malahat Review Open Season Award for Fiction and the Humber Literary Review’s Emerging Writers Fiction contest. She is a Banff Centre alumna, recipient of CALQ and Canada Council Arts grants and a reader for the 2025 CBC Short Story Prize. Rebecca teaches writing workshops and works as a developmental editor and coach for fiction writers. She is currently working on her second novel.
As Good a Place as Any is Rebecca Păpucaru's first novel. Her debut poetry collection, The Panic Room was awarded the 2018 Canadian Jewish Literary Award for Poetry and was also a finalist for the A.M. Klein Prize for Poetry (Quebec Writers’ Federation) and longlisted for the Gerald Lampert Memorial Award (League of Canadian Poets). Her short fiction has appeared in Grain, Event, The Dalhousie Review, and The New Quarterly. “Yentas” was awarded The Malahat Review‘s 2020 Novella Prize. She lives in the Eastern Townships, Quebec.
