The Ecclesbourne Valley Railway is proud to announce its participation in the highly anticipated Twin Peaks Diesel Gala, taking place on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th April 2026.In partnership with Peak Rail, this special event will celebrate the rich heritage of British diesel traction, offering visitors a unique opportunity to experience an impressive lineup of historic diesel locomotives across two of Derbyshire’s heritage railways with one inclusive ticket. 
At the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway, visitors can look forward to travelling behind a distinguished selection of heritage diesel traction, including Class 73 No. 73001, Class 33 No. 33103 ‘Swordfish’, Class 47 D1842, and our heritage DMU fleet including the Class 122 and Derby Lightweight vehicles. 
A dedicated heritage bus shuttle will operate between the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway and Peak Rail, allowing guests to seamlessly explore both lines and enjoy a full programme of intensive services, special attractions, and heritage railway experiences throughout the gala. 
This promises to be a memorable weekend for enthusiasts, families, and visitors alike, showcasing the unique character and operational heritage of diesel rail travel in the Derbyshire Dales.
