On January 8, 1880, Emperor Norton walked out of the Eureka Lodgings boarding house and into immortality. Join us this year as we retrace his final steps, sponsored by the Emperor Norton Legacy League, a group dedicated to preserving the life and times of the United States’ first and only emperor. We meet at Empire Park, 642 Commercial St. (Emperor Norton Place) at 7:45 p.m. and depart at 8 p.m. on our journey to the corner of California and Grant. Bring flowers and candles. This event will take place rain or shine. Join us afterwards at a nearby bar to raise a toast to Emperor Norton!
