About this Event
Lydia Loveless is a Columbus, Ohio–based singer-songwriter whose music blends country, rock, punk, and pop. She has released a string of acclaimed records including Indestructible Machine(2011), Somewhere Else(2014), Real(2016), Daughter(2020), and Nothing’s Gonna Stand in My Way Again(2023). Loveless has toured widely, sharing stageswith Drive-By Truckers, Old 97’s, Iron & Wine, and Jason Isbell, and was the subject of the 2016 documentary Who Is Lydia Loveless?, which chronicled the making of Real and her life on the road. In 2024 she released Something Else, a piano-driven reimagining of Somewhere Else to mark that album’s 10th anniversary.
John Calvin Abney rises again from the Oklahoma prairies with his seventh studio album Transparent Towns, released in September 2025. The album is a meditation on memory, time, and forgiveness written during a year of forced silence while recovering from vocal cord surgery. Self-produced and tracked mostly at Cardinal Song outside Oklahoma City with contributions from Lydia Loveless and John Moreland, the record showcases Abney's signature vulnerable voice and lyrical precision set against alternative pop melodies and colorful chords. A Tulsa-raised songwriter who's spent years backing artists like Moreland, Wild Child, and Ben Kweller, Abney steps back into a lead role with an album that reminds us he's got plenty of his own stories to tell.
