Charlie Marie's 2021 debut, Ramble On, earned critical acclaim and found its way onto taste-making playlists across major streaming platforms—but its success brought pressures she wasn't prepared for. What followed was a string of losses: a relationship ended, a close collaborator departed, her grandmother's health declined, and her fatherdied unexpectedly. With nothing left to hold onto, she packed her Toyota Yaris and drove—from Rhode Island to Alaska and back—with no plan and no destination.
That journey became Signs, out June 5. Produced by Boston-based country-rock band These Wild Plains and recorded at Rusty's Recording Studio in Salem, MA, the album documents what she found on the road: kindness from strangers, comfort in nature, and a hard-won sense of self. Rooted in classic country but colored by folk-rock, Americana, and the influence of John Denver, Joni Mitchell, and Linda Ronstadt, Signs marks a significant leap from her debut—the work of an artist who got lost on purpose and came back knowing exactly who she is.
