CLASS INFORMATION
This class puts you on the streets of Los Angeles with a roll of film and a story to tell. Over four weeks, you’ll practice the analog photojournalism workflow — shooting documentary black and white film in the city at night, then developing and printing your work in the darkroom. Each week pairs an evening shoot with a darkroom session, so you see your images go from moments to prints in real time. You’ll be out in the world, in the dark, making pictures on the spot.
Prerequisites: Some prior photography experience required. Students must be comfortable shooting outdoors at night in urban environments. Students should be willing to work together — in the field and in the darkroom, this class functions as a team.
