About this Event
Calgary novelist Susan Calder takes us on a guided walk through historic Tuxedo Park, the setting for her latest mystery novel. We’ll start at the recently transformed Balmoral Circus Park and stroll back in time through this community that developed during Calgary’s real estate boom prior to World War One. Highlights include a row of preserved workers cottages, the mixed commercial block that housed the second branch of the Calgary Public Library, and Balmoral Bungalow School—its design unique to Calgary. Learn about the history of the neighbourhood and its significance for Calgary’s past. We circle back to Balmoral Circus Park, which was originally inspired by the City Beautiful movement in the 1930s.
