About this Event
We’re exploring the neighbourhood of Hillhurst-Sunnyside, a northeast neighbourhood where together we’ll explore the neighbourhood using a community development resource: asset mapping! Every neighbourhood is a unique and vibrant place worth exploring! Tyson is co-lead of CDLI, Community Development Learning Initiative, who has been leading asset-mapping walks around Calgary. On this walk, we’re excited to walk with participants and share the 'How To' of asset-mapping! What is mapping? How it can be effective tool to engage residents and explore possibilities? We'll also learn about special gems in the neighbourhood of Hillhurst-Sunnyside. Participants will also learn how to lead their own asset mapping walk in their neighbourhood, identify assets, exchange ideas and possibilities that build stronger communities. Reconvene to discuss what your teams mapped, what new or familiar assets were found and how you can take the skills learned to share in your own neighbourhood.
NOTES: Busy Sidewalks, Fast paced, covering lots of ground, breaks offered along the way.
