About the Book
Deep in the misty forests of Admiralty Island in Alaska, young Maya the bear loves exploring hidden paths and quiet places. One day, she senses something unusual—someone else is nearby.
Through the trees, Maya spots a little girl, and the girl sees her too. Neither moves. Neither speaks. They simply stare—curious, cautious, and unsure how this unexpected meeting could be happening.
But before either can take a step closer, questions linger. Will the forest remain calm? Will the grown-ups notice? And could this surprising moment turn into something special?
Maya the Bear Makes a Friend is a gentle, magical story about curiosity, connection, and how even the most unexpected encounters can blossom into friendship.
