About this Event
This is the perfect "Intro to Mountain Biking" for young riders ready to leave the pavement behind. Coaches will guide riders onto the dirt to learn the fundamentals of off-road riding. From body positioning to navigating basic obstacles, this week is packed with trail riding and skill-building for adventurous youth.
Where Trail Confidence Begins.
Who This Program Is For
Designed for riders ages 5–12 who can pedal on their own but are new to trails or still building confidence riding off pavement.
Our Teaching Approach
Our certified coaches focus on helping riders feel comfortable and in control on uneven terrain. Through simple skill progressions and short, supported trail rides, riders learn foundational skills like body position, braking, and safe riding habits at a pace that feels manageable. We emphasize awareness, spacing, and basic trail etiquette so riders understand how to ride safely with others.
How Skills Progress
Riders build confidence step-by-step, starting on easier terrain and gradually exploring more features as they’re ready. The focus is on control, comfort, and positive repetition—not distance or difficulty.
What Riders Leave With
Riders leave feeling more confident taking their bikes onto dirt, with a strong foundation of skills and a positive first experience on the trails.
May 25th through 29th. Camp is five days, starting Monday, May 25th, through Friday, June 5th 9:00am to 11:30am daily.
The "Ditch the Training Wheels Tour" is driven by a singular mission: to double the number of kids on bikes across the United States. While Pedal Kids USA operates year-round in Northwest Arkansas and Kansas City, this tour allows them to deploy several teams of traveling coaches to bring high-quality instruction and excitement to communities they don't usually reach and they are coming to Tulsa!
