About this Event
Hiking Route: A guided hike through Winchester's scenic paths, suitable for all fitness levels, showcasing the natural beauty of the area. The hike starts in the city centre. Shortly afterwards we'll start walking along the River Itchen. For most of the route we'll be walking on the riverbed, with clean streams, horses and sheep around. So be prepared for a muddy surface. In the second half of the walk, we'll have a nice climb up to St Catherine's Hill, where we'll see the town and Winchester’s famous college and a beautiful example of the iconic British landscape. After lunch we'll start our descent and discover another side of the riverbed. Finally, we'll arrive at the Winchester Christmas Market, recognised as one of the best Christmas markets in the UK. The hikers will be free to spend as much time as they like at the market. Thanks to our return tickets, participants will be free to return to London on the same operator's train at their convenience.

Essentials:
-Waterproof walking boots or shoes
-Waterproof jacket in case of rain
-2 litres of water, as there are no shops on the way to St Catherine's Hill, apart from the town centre.
-Snacks or fruits to lift your spirits
-Your lunch box (pre-prepared)
The booking fee includes round-trip train tickets and a guided hiking tour. Expenses at the Christmas market are the responsibility of the individuals. Food and beverages are not provided by Turken.
