Huaxia Cultural Hub proudly presents Turandot Highlights in Concert on 27 September, 7:30PM at The Arts House Chamber, featuring an exceptional cast of singers breathing new life into Puccini’s monumental score.
Acclaimed soprano Zhang Jie takes on the formidable title role of the icy Princess Turandot, her powerful voice and dramatic presence capturing the opera’s grandeur. Opposite her is tenor Shaun Lee as the passionate Prince Calaf, whose stirring delivery of the famous aria “Nessun dorma” embodies determination and love’s triumph. Soprano Sim Weiying lends touching lyricism and poignancy to the devoted slave-girl Liù, while baritone Edward Kim completes the cast as the commanding Mandarin.
Presented in concert highlights, this performance distills the essence of Turandot into an unforgettable evening of soaring arias, duets, and ensembles. With its blend of dramatic intensity and Puccini’s lush orchestral colours adapted for chamber setting, the concert offers audiences both the splendour of grand opera and the intimacy of a recital.
