TUNES ON THE CHARLES SATURDAY! Fiddle Recital, CD Launches and more!

From archival discoveries to live CD releases and a stunning fiddle showcase, Saturday at the Lilypad offers a full afternoon of Irish traditional music and culture. One $20 admission gets you in for the whole day.

The Lilypad's Saturday programming kicks off at 2pm with a talk by Christian Dupont, head of Boston College's Burns Library, who will share the history of BC's Irish collections and treat attendees to previously unheard recordings from the archive. Diarmuid O'Meachair and Seamus Noonan will support the presentation by discussing the archival recordings that they hand-selected.

At 3pm, join the debut release celebration for Jimmy Kelly's long-awaited recording of songs and tunes, followed at 4pm by the launch of "Once Through the Hall," the new album from the duo Caitlin Finley and Will Woodson.

The day culminates at 5pm with a fiddle recital featuring some of the finest living players in the Irish tradition, including Andrew Caden, Aoife Ní Bhriain, Ciarán Ó Maonaigh, Doireann Ní Ghlacáin, and Liam O'Connor alongside local artists. Pay $20 at the door, stay all day.
