About this Event
We’re combining two Irish powerhouses for a deliciously Irish evening: pairing Tullamore D.E.W. Irish whiskey with Irish bites from Mrs. Murphy’s & Sons Irish Bistro!
Tullamore D.E.W. is the second largest selling Irish whiskey in the world, made in Tullamore, Ireland. It’s known for being approachable both neat and in cocktails, especially in an Irish Coffee.
Tullamore is a blend of three types of Irish whiskey: single grain, single malt, and pot still. (Not sure what those are? Don't worry, we'll talk it about it at the event!) They use a variety of casks to age their whiskey, including ex-bourbon barrels, ex-sherry butts, and refill barrels, then the whiskey is blended together to create a balanced flavor profile. And there's no better place to eat and drink in an Irish mood than Mrs. Murphy's. The restaurant serves Irish favorites alongside hundreds of Irish whiskey.
After starting with a welcome cocktail, we’ll explore four Tullamore whiskeys, each paired with a bite from Mrs. Murphy’s delicious kitchen:
- Tullamore DEW Original paired with Dairy Milk Golden Crisp Chocolate Bar - the original Tullamore whiskey, with a fruity and biscuity nose with notes of caramel and toffee sweetness; and a palate of sherried peels, spice, toast with butter and honey, grains and vanilla cream.
- Tullamore DEW 12 Year paired with traditional Irish Banger wrapped in Puff Pastry - the original whiskey aged for at least 12 years, with a nose of scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam, sultanas, dates, and honey; and a light and soft palate with hints of nutmeg and allspice with a touch of honey and creamy fruits.
- Tullamore Honey paired with Irish oat cracker with Kerrygold Blarney Cheese and a Dollop of Ballymaloe Tomato Relish - the blend of pot still, malt, and grain Irish whiskeys blended together, then infused with natural Bohemian Honey and sugar to create a whiskey liqueur with sweet honey flavors.
- Tullamore Rum Cask paired with Broiche Bread Pudding Bite with Caramel Drizzle - the original blend of pot still, malt, and grain Irish whiskeys aged in first fill Caribbean rum casks which previously held Demerara rum. On the nose there’s notes of cherry pie, lots of tropical mango and banana alongside buttery caramel, with sweet malt and rum spice; on the palate there’s notes of lemon curd, caramelized pineapple and brown sugar, with oak spice and lots of dried fruit.
This will be a deliciously fun evening and tickets are limited, so jump on them quick!
