Mainline Steam’s popular Tui Brewery trip returns with Steam locomotive Jb1236 (Joanne) and the fleet of Ao carriages featuring large panoramic windows, air conditioning and heating.Travel from Plimmerton through Pukerua Bay overlooking the stunning coast line with views of Kapiti Island as we proceed north through Kapiti into the country side of the Manawatu. We pass through the Manawatu Gorge with spectacular views of the river and the remnants of the old highway now bypassed by the new The Te Ahu a Turanga highway over the Tararua ranges.
Our buffet carriage will have food and drinks available for purchase during the trip.
Upon arrival at Mangatainoka, a bus will transfer you to the Tui Brewery or feel free to take the 10-minute walk to the Brewery.
Our hosts at the Tui Brewery will serve a gourmet BBQ lunch in the original Flagon room with a complimentary drink (beer, cider, Sav) and you will receive the Mangatainoka Passport full of vouchers to redeem at the Brewery. Please purchase the lunch option when booking your train tickets.
