Zylstra was among the few pragmatic, responsible, commissioners pushing back against social extremism and irresponsible governance over the last two years. With Ottawa Impact’s majority at an end following the November election, Zylstra considers What happened in November and what does it mean? And what do we, the progressive community, do next? Zylstra is the current county commissioner from District 3, the city of Holland. He currently serves on the county’s Health and Human Services Committee, the Lakeshore Regional Entity Substance Use Disorder Oversight Policy Board, and the Holland Smart Zone Development Board. He’s a small business owner and holds a BA in Literature from U of M, and an MBA from the Broad School of Business at MSU.
