Just before the busy summer sailing season begins for Bluenose II, meet Captain Philip Watson who helms the ship and crew! Hear the stories and adventures of this legendary ship while spending a night at the museum, a maritime museum!
Philip grew up in Mahone Bay, NS sailing small boats both at Lunenburg Yacht Club and around the bay with his brother, Dave. At the age of 16 years of age, Phil joined schooner, Raindancer for a trip to Lake Huron. This led to a lifelong passion for life under sail. He joined Bluenose II in spring of 1987 as a deckhand and has now been captain for 25 years. Phil lives in Mahone Bay with his wife Krista and occasionally, his two university aged children.
Our Tuesday Night Talks are free, with admission free on Tuesdays after 4 pm.
We also support Feed Nova Scotia as part of our community evenings, and appreciate your donation to curb food security, together.
