Welcome to a CI jam on Tuesdays during spring 2026, organised by the non-profit association Kontaktimprovisation Stockholm!Each week there will be a jam host who takes care of the space and the practicalities. Some weeks the jam host will facilitate a short group warm-up, while other weeks jam participants will be responsible for their own warm-up (note: even if the jam host facilitates a group warm-up, there will not be a long guided "intro" as we have for the Sunday Jam).
Some weeks the jam host might propose a theme for the group to explore together.
As this is a shorter jam (2 hours), the general proposal is to create a more focused space. To support this, there will be two arrival times: 17.45 and 18.45.
When: Tuesdays 18.00-20.00, 10 Feb-26 May

Price: 50kr per jam for members of the association, 100kr per jam for non-members. Payment by swish or cash only. (See below for more info on how to become a member).
----About Contact Improvisation----
Contact Improvisation is a form of dance art with multiple layers and dimensions, where listening and staying in tune with your own movement in relation to your environment; the space, and other people is key.
It is a dynamic movement form and dance practice where we move in and out of physical contact, following gravity and sensation. Together we engage in a fluid, evolving flow of movement characterized by unpredictability that sharpens the reflexes and opens up for an enigmatic interaction and (dis)orientation in and through us.
Contact Improvisation was developed in the context of experimental postmodern dance and performance practice in the 1970s in the USA but has since expanded beyond its original contexts and is now practiced by diverse communities of movers across many parts of the world.
----About the Jam----
This event is open for everyone with a curiosity to dance in and out of contact. Dancing, observing and being in space is all part of the jam. Take care of yourself and the space of improvisation; we emphasize that you are free to enter or leave a dance at any time. To keep the focus on dance in the space, talking and socialization takes place outside of the studio. If you want to pause your dance, please move to the side. We dance barefoot in comfy clothes.
----Membership----
The non-profit association “Kontaktimprovisation Stockholm" was started in 2025 as a means for members to get to jam/dance for amazingly low prices, be part of co-creating our community, and get a chance to dive deeper in to the form through regular practice. As a member, you can influence various decisions relating to the dance practice and the organisation, as well as attend more dance events exclusively for members.
There are three types of membership:
- For 1000 SEK you have free entry to the association's Sunday jam for the whole calendar year and are a member for the whole calendar year.
- For 700 SEK you have free entry to the Sunday jam for a whole term. You are also a member for the whole calendar year.
- You can also become a support member for SEK 200 per calendar year (for example if you do not live in Stockholm but want to join the association). Free entry to the Sunday jam is not included in this membership.
All 3 types of membership give you the discounted member price for the Tuesday jam.
