This April, the Otago Settlers Association’s Tuesday Club welcomes Beth Rees, Assistant Registrar at Toitū Otago Settlers Museum.
In this talk Beth will discuss the process the Toitū Collections team went through in preparing the wedding dresses and suits for The Big Day exhibition (2021-2025), and more recently, the garments for the Eden in Dunedin exhibition. You’ll get a behind the scenes insight of the development, conservation and install of this display and opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
This talk will conclude with a brief demonstration and hands-on session about how the mannequins are padded and prepared, and undergarments are constructed.
This event begins with refreshments and an opportunity to chat with Otago Settlers Association members.
