About this Event
Learn to paint realistically in a simple and fun way using both real life setups and photo references, to create colorful artworks!
In this class, you will learn how to:
- arrange a still life in a fun and unique way
- use your phone to capture arrangements with purposeful lighting and color
- mix oil or acrylic paints to match what you are painting
- paint realistically with the help and encouragement of your instructor
- have constructive critiques with peers to enhance your work
Students will walk away with the skills to arrange and paint a still life in a dynamic way; taking home 1-2 finished paintings.
**IMPORTANT NOTE**
We want to keep this course as odorless and toxic-free as possible. Please no mineral spirits or turpentine.
Supply List:
- Acrylic or oil paints in various colors (red, yellow, blue, black, and white are a must-have)
- 2 canvases or gessoed boards of any size you’d like
- 9x12 disposable palette paper to mix paints
- palette knife (any will do)
- Various sizes and types of brushes (nothing fancy is necessary)
- Gamsol or odorless turpentine in an air-tight container if you are working with oils
- quality paper towels like Viva or Blue Shop Towels
