While Oregon is full of opportunities to explore nature, you don't need to travel far outside of the city to see what makes this place such an ecological marvel! Accessible by car or pubic transit, Tryon Creek State Natural Area offers a wealth of biodiversity just minutes from the center of Portland. Come join an Oregon Master Naturalist on this ramble around the forest to learn more about the wild beings found here. We'll cover approximately 3-4 miles at an easy pace, with plenty of stops along the way.
This is an excellent opportunity to learn about local nature. Your guide, Rebecca Lexa, will share her knowledge about the local flora, fauna, and fungi, as well as the ecosystems they are a part of. Bring your curiosity and your questions, and allow yourself to get to know this amazing natural place more deeply.
While the trail is well maintained, there are hills, rugged areas and places where you may need to step down off of large roots, so please wear appropriate footwear; hiking poles may also be helpful. Participants will be required to sign a liability form before we embark on the tour and agree to a code of conduct that basically boils down to "be nice to each other, and be nice to the land."
Ticket covers admission for one person. Gratuities after the tour are optional but appreciated. Please preregister at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/tryon-creek-guided-nature-hike-tickets-891178036497
