Come Try Bushwalking with CAEX and Bushwalking Victoria this September
Many of you will be surprised by this pleasant walk from Alphington to Heidelberg. We will start with a short walk to Heidelberg station and a quick train ride to Alphington station. Then, following the Darebin Creek and Yarra River, we meander travelling upriver past glimpses of golf courses and the Yarra River flowing gently on its way. Streeton and Roberts used this same back drop for many of their paintings, and the walk does pass close to Napier Waller’s house. This is a fascinating walk through this bushland on Melbourne’s doorstep and is a gentle stroll, on well-formed paths while maintaining a genuine bushwalk feel where you will take in both historic and natural scenes.
