Boundary-pushing folk, queer Americana, and fearless songwriting — live in one intimate room.Join us at Greenwood Social Hall for a powerful night of original music from three artists redefining modern folk and Americana.
True Lions — the expansively nonconforming project of Alison “AL” Hawkins — blends folk-punk fiddle, thoughtful lyricism, and collaborative energy. Featuring AL alongside Fritz Hutchison, Carly Atwood, Joel Stratton, and Evan Verploegh, this KC-based group delivers music that is bold, heartfelt, and unapologetically original.
Remi Goode (pronounced “RAY-mee”) brings a sound rooted in Tucson’s folk tradition and shaped by her adopted home of Nashville. With influences like Suzanne Vega and Kathleen Edwards, Remi weaves classical training and contemporary songwriting into music that feels both grounded and exploratory.
Madeleine Kelson, a Nashville-based Americana artist, challenges tradition while honoring it. Named one of NPR’s “10 Nashville Artists on the Rise,” Kelson is an IBMA Songwriter Showcase winner and Kerrville New Folk finalist whose queer country anthem “The Way I Do” went viral with over 1.7 million views. Her storytelling is dynamic, down-to-earth, and deeply resonant.
