About this Event
POSTPONED – 17. November.
We are really sad, to inform you, that we have to postpone our event with Cherry-Ann Davis to the 17. November. Covid is still there and has caught our moderator.
Speculative Design, Social Design and Critical Design - politically rooted design practices shape the current understanding of design. Design and the conception of design have greatly expanded. We understand these movements as a reaction to the current socio-political climate. Designers interact with thematic foci such as feminism, climate activism or postcolonialism. But can design make a significant contribution to these pressing issues of our time?
In order to develop further as a Designathon, we want to devote ourselves together to the question in the coming months: What is (power)critical design?
For this purpose, we invite different designers to public conversations in the Trouble Bubble. All interviews will be followed by a mini-workshop, and at the end an aperitif will invite to a relaxed exchange.
Our guest, Cherry-Ann Davis works as a graphic designer and wants to break down stereotypes and narratives in the racist design dialogue with her work.
All talks of Trouble Bubble - Design as a Critical Practice will be published as a podcast on our website.
This event will be held in english.
Die Veranstaltung ist mit Unterstützung des Bundesamts für Kultur und der Fachstelle Kultur des Kantons Zürich im Rahmen des Programms «Transformationsprojekte» der Covid-Finanzhilfen enstanden.
