Tropism kicks off its first event on March 24th, at Astron Club with a night of raw, underground energy, headlined by the legendary Legowelt. Dutch master Danny Wolfers conjures sprawling, acid-infused worlds live, pushing machines to their limits and guiding the crowd through dense, analogue-driven landscapes. Expect restless patterns, mutating grooves and a dancefloor pulsing as a single organism—this is sound as movement, a true Tropism moment.
Under the moniker Legowelt, Danny Wolfers has crafted a sprawling body of work that exists in a state of perpetual evolution. Each release is not merely a product, but a document of an ongoing sonic exploration. Wolfers’ journey began in the early ’90s, after hearing Unit Moebius on the radio. Fueled by the revolutionary sounds of Detroit (Underground Resistance, Model 500, Blake Baxter) and the pioneers of Chicago house (Farley Jackmaster Funk, Armando Gallop, and Larry Heard), he emerged as a distinct signal from the Dutch underground—a sound shaped by the raw aesthetic of The Hague and wired through the Bunker Records continuum. Mentored by figures like I-f and Melvin White (Pamétex), he was schooled in the obscure early electro and the shadowy fringes of pre-1983 electronics. In 1998, Bunker released Legowelt’s debut vinyl, Pimpshifter. A six-track fusion of Italo-disco and Chicago house, it became an instant cult classic with tracks like "Sturmvogel" and "Total Pussy Control." From early breakthroughs like "Disco Rout" to the fog-soaked atmosphere of albums like The Paranormal Soul and Crystal Cult 2080, his output spans the labels that define the modern underground: Clone, L.I.E.S., Peoples Potential Unlimited, and Crème Organization. Every release adds layers to an ever-expanding catalog rooted in deep analogue devotion and restless curiosity. He remains a singular figure --moving effortlessly across scenes without ever belonging to trends. Live, Legowelt does not simply perform; he constructs environments. Sound grows in real-time, acid patterns mutate, and machines are pushed to the brink of misbehavior. Α rave ecosystem where the crowd moves as a single organism, drawn instinctively toward the source. Legowelt is not chasing the current moment. He is building his own timeline and inviting those willing to step inside. This is tropism in sound form—an inevitable movement toward energy, toward the machines, and toward the dance floor.
Supporting the night, Berlin-born, now based in Barcelona, Jerky T delivers dark, playful electro, shaped by Berlin’s underground scene. Starting out with Detroit electro influences (Ectomorph), his sound gradually shifted through IFM and Traxx, landing somewhere between Belgian new beat, Dutch electro, jack, acid, and wave. The result is a raw, dark, and playful approach to the dancefloor. Active in the Berlin underground, he co-curated DIY parties with Genesis and played venues like OXI, Sameheads, Paloma, Zur Klappe, Kater, and Club Ost, including the Sound Metaphors 1st May program.
For the first time ever, DJ Problems and Kazteins collide in a b2b set, fusing raw electro and techno energy from Athens and Berlin with vinyl-only mastery and decades of underground experience.
DJ Problems, aka Bekha Mujiri, is a DJ and producer born in Georgia and raised in Greece. Active behind the decks since 2008, he has been a steady presence in the Athenian electronic scene since 2010. Rooted in electro, techno, and bass, his sound moves freely across genres, driven by a raw, street-level approach to club music. His releases have appeared on labels such as Magdalena’s Apathy, Hypress Records, Vanila Records, and Low Income $quad.
Kazteins is an Athens-born DJ, raised on punk and rock before being pulled into electronic music through the early impact of Daft Punk, The Chemical Brothers, and Underworld. At 19, he committed to the turntables, building his sound around electro and techno and maintaining a strict vinyl-only approach. Alongside a long-time collaborator, he became active in Athenian clubs before launching a mobile underground party concept, organizing events and bringing international artists into the local scene. Between 2004 and 2009, he ran a DIY electro project in Athens, hosting guests such as Terence Fixmer and Jennifer Cardini. His work has been recognized by Mechatronica and Intergalactic FM, leading to his selection for the Electro Mix Challenge in recent years. For the past 20 years, he has been based in Berlin, and is currently affiliated with the Athens-based label Tiger Weeds.
