The Triple-Herb Planter Series
Transform your windowsill into a living pantry with our immersive three-part pottery and gardening workshop. This curated experience takes you from raw clay to a flourishing indoor garden, focusing on hand-building techniques that prioritize texture and form.
Session One: Sculpting the Foundation
In our first meeting, you will learn the art of hand-building to create a custom three-section planter. Instead of relying on mechanical tools, we will focus on pinching and coiling methods to construct a singular vessel with three distinct internal compartments. This ensures each of your herbs has its own dedicated space to thrive while maintaining a cohesive, artisanal aesthetic. You’ll spend the session refining the walls and adding personalized details to your clay body.
Session Two: The Art of Glazing
Once your planter has been kiln-fired, we return to the studio to add a splash of personality. You will explore our professional glaze library to finish your piece. Whether you prefer a sleek modern monochrome or a rustic, earthy drip, you’ll apply the minerals and pigments necessary to make your planter waterproof and vibrant. We will discuss how different glazes interact with the clay surface to create unique, one-of-a-kind finishes.
Session Three: Planting with the Pro
For our final act, your finished and fired planters will be ready for their green companions. We are thrilled to welcome Jesse from Fresh the Florist, who will lead a hands-on planting clinic. Jesse will guide you through the specific soil needs, drainage requirements, and sunlight preferences for three different culinary herbs. You’ll walk away not just with a piece of handmade art, but with a fully realized, sustainable herb garden ready for your kitchen.
