�Graham McKirdy and Gordon McDonald have joined up to travel 4000 miles in a £800 banger car to Rome via the Swiss Alps for charity. ��We are looking for donations and or sponsorship as our quest is to raise money for two charities in our local community.�
The first charity is Ardentinny Outdoor centre who believe that everyone should be able to experience the health benefits of out door activities including gorge walking, rock climbing, rock hopping, climbing, a sailing, dragon boating, kayaking and many more activities.
The second charity is the Strachur Community Shed. We are in the process of gaining building control approval for a new purpose built unit to get the shed fully operational. The purpose of the shed is for Connection, conversation and creation – that’s what joining a Community Shed is all about.
Community Sheds encourage people to come together to make, repair and repurpose, supporting projects in their local communities.

We have signed up through the Rust2Rome organisation to drive from Edinburgh to Rome via the Swiss Alps in our trusty banger of a car.
We will be driving some of the iconic roads that you will have seen on some classic films like The Italian Job and a few 007 movies.
The drive will be over 8days and a couple of days rest in Rome followed by the drive back. In total 4000 miles will be travelled. The hard part of this, other than the long days of driving is repairing the car in the road should our 2000 Volvo v70 play up.
