About this Event
Trinity Tots from 14/12/23
Meets in Holy Trinity Church, Charlton Village Rd, Wantage OX12 7HW from 9am until 11.00am on 1st and 3rd Mondays in term-time or as advertised.
It aims to provide a supportive environment for parents, with toys and activities for babies, toddlers, and preschool children. Communication with carers and parents is face to face and via church newsletter, Wantage Parish website and Wantage Parish Facebook and Trinity Tots and Kingsgrove Facebook groups. Also via Eventbrite.
The group is led by Ann Gregory and a rota of parishioners and volunteers, all who have DBS clearance and Safeguarding training. This group is hosted by the church and is covered by the church safeguarding and insurance policies.
● Booking and paying for a space at the group is via Eventbrite. There is a limited number of spaces available and bookable with one space per family (e.g., mum, baby and toddler). We regret that we are unable to accommodate childminders at this time.
● The charge is £3.00 per family to cover snacks, drinks, replacement toys and consumables.
● Parents are required to register, sign in and provide contact details on arrival at their first session.
● Children are supervised by their parents/carers.
● There is a session Bible Story or Seasonal theme. The group offers an inviting array of activities for babies, and for toddlers, construction, pretend play, puzzles, books, drawing, and crafting. Children come together to sit at the small tables and chairs for snack time, closely supervised by their parent/carer. We all come together at the end of the session for story/singing/rhyme time.
● Toys are stored in cupboards and small tables and chairs in the church storage cupboards.
Health Precautions
1. For everyone’s wellbeing please follow any current government guidelines in force at the time and do not attend if you or your child/children are unwell.
2. Hand sanitiser is available.
3. We respect the view that some may wish to wear a face covering in crowded and enclosed spaces and where you meet people you do not normally meet.
4. At snack time, fruit and healthy wrapped snacks for children (e.g. individually wrapped snacks/dried fruits, satsumas, or similar) will be provided for parents to select and give to their children and supervise when eating.
Some guidance notes for Parents and Carers
● Parents/carers are asked to bring their own children’s cup. Coffee/tea is available in lidded cups, from the serving hatch during the morning. Please be careful with hot drinks. Children should not enter the kitchen. A volunteer stays in the kitchen with the door closed to make the drinks and prepare for snack time.
● The area around and behind the altar and the font are protected by a row of chairs. Children should not play in this area. Do not allow children to climb on chairs or pews
● The piano and organ should not be touched.
● Prams and buggies are to be stored in the area provided. Please ensure children do not enter this area unsupervised.
● A volunteer will stand in the porch to supervise entry and exit. Parents and carers are however responsible to ensure children in their care do not leave the building unless accompanied.
● Be careful of finger trapping in the doors to the toilets. They are heavy with spring loaded closers fitted.
● A first aid box is available in case of minor accidents. There is an incident book available.
● There is a baby changing area with potty and toilet insert and a bin for any dirty nappies which is emptied at the end of the session.
