Trinidad History & Future Fest 2024 is in part a celebration of Trinidad as a neighborhood of Washington DC and in part an event to learn about Trinidad's history (how the neighborhood got its start and the rich history since its founding including the Loving Family that considered it their home) and community discussion about how we want to shape Trinidad for the 21st century. It is also a block party (rather a neighborhood celebration) in which we will have MCs and DJs throwing a party for the entire Trinidad. We will have food free giveaways and of course fun kid- and family-friendly music (think Taylor Swift).
Schedule:
9:30 AM -- Welcome address by Anna Roblin (ANC3 Commissioner) President of JS Jenks and Sons Hardware Store (the oldest independently owned hardware store in DC) and Young Kim (Director of Trinidad Farmers Market)
9 AM to 1 PM -- Displays (of Trinidad and its rich history in Washington DC) and poster presentation by a historian and architect
10 AM to 1 PM -- Neighborhood party MC'd and DJ'd by Ricky and Kayla Ricardo
We welcome you to our event on Sunday November 10 from 9 AM to 1 PM.
