❄️ triJUNIORZ Winter Training Weekend – August 16 & 17 ❄️We’re making the most of the winter training vibes with a big weekend coming up for our triJUNIORZ squad! Here's the plan:
🗓 Saturday (August 16):
🏊♂️ 9–10am Swim at Baywave
🚐 Travel to Cambridge for the WAIBOP Road Running Champs
🏃♂️ 2pm Race Start
🕟 Return around 4:30pm
We're jumping on the chance to race locally and will be heading over to the WAIBOP Road Champs on Saturday. Racing is totally optional, but we will provide transport for as many kids as possible – just let us know if you're keen!
🗓 Sunday (August 17):
🏊♀️ 9–10am Swim at Baywave
🚴♂️ 11:30–1:30pm Ride from Gordon Spratt Reserve
What to bring:
For swims: Togs + any gear you usually train with
For the ride: Bike + puncture repair gear if you have it

Please Note:
Your Triathlon Tauranga membership must be up to date to join in, and there will be a small additional fee for each session which will be invoiced to parents.
Who are triJUNIORZ?
triJUNIORZ is our performance development squad for intermediate and junior secondary-aged kids. If your child is 11+ or in Year 7 in 2026 and is interested in racing at the 2026 NZ Schools Triathlon Champs, they may be eligible to join us for training weekends like this.
